Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang announced on Wednesday, October 14, at an event in London that the chipmaker is taking stakes in five UK startups: biotech firms Prima Mente and Boltz, project delivery platform Foresight, algorithm discovery startup Hiverge and quantum company Riverlane. CNBC reports that these companies, alongside other UK firms Nvidia is not naming, will receive $1.16 billion of Nvidia cash.

Huang told the audience, "We're not your largest investor, but we are your best investor." He also singled out Nscale CEO Josh Payne, saying Nvidia had invested in Nscale and helped attract other investors. According to Dealroom, as cited by CNBC, Nvidia has taken part in 116 investment rounds so far in 2026, up from 12 in 2022.

The UK announcement followed Nvidia's stakes in several French startups earlier in the same week and fits a broader push to hold positions across the AI stack. The stakes were announced during a European tour ahead of Nvidia's GTC event in Berlin next week. The report does not disclose individual stake sizes.
