In a Facebook post cited by Lovin Malta, Galea Pace said he is filing the necessary reports and will push for action against the property. He cast it as a neighbourhood issue as much as anything else, saying residents should not have to confront this kind of alleged activity in their own street.
That is the sharpest part of the complaint. A residential block is not just a legal designation. It is where people expect ordinary domestic life: children at home, older residents nearby, and some basic confidence about what the property next door is being used for.
Galea Pace said the alleged activity is taking place next to families with young children and elderly residents. “It is unacceptable for residents to have to face these situations every day in their own homes,” he said, according to Lovin Malta.
He also said Swieqi is a residential area and pledged to do everything possible to keep its neighbourhoods clean and safe, while calling for an end to illegal activities and properties allegedly being used for prostitution in residential streets.
The allegation, though, remains just that. Lovin Malta reported that it had not been independently verified, and no details were provided about the property’s location or any action taken by the authorities.
So the confirmed development here is narrower than the charge itself: a local official has gone public, says he is filing reports, and wants action over what he describes as an intolerable use of a residential property.
