The morning-after pill is not banned in Malta. You can obtain emergency contraception without a prescription from a pharmacy, although a pharmacist may ask relevant questions before supplying it. Not every pharmacy will have the product you need at the moment you need it.
Time matters more than the search result
Malta’s public sexual-health service explains the two main options: ulipristal acetate can be taken up to 120 hours after unprotected sex; levonorgestrel up to 72 hours. The sooner you seek advice, the better. A pharmacist or doctor can help you choose the appropriate option, including where other medication or health circumstances matter.

If it is Sunday or a public holiday, check the duty roster first. If the pharmacy cannot supply it, ask the pharmacist where you can obtain it without delay. This is different from the regular contraceptive pill, which requires a prescription.
