The strikes follow the deaths of three American service members killed in Iranian military attacks over the weekend. The Pentagon identified 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan of Hawaii and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales of Texas among the fallen. A third service member died in northern Iraq while troops were disposing of an Iranian drone, per the Pentagon. Unidentified remains were also recovered in Jordan, where an earlier attack had already claimed two lives.
