Index Integrity

How the index works.

FreeMalta maintains the authority of the Hospitality Index through consistent, objective oversight. These rules apply to all 200 venues.

No Guaranteed Permanence
Inclusion in the FreeMalta Hospitality Index is not permanent. All venues — Prime and standard alike — are subject to periodic review. The index evolves to reflect Malta's best, and that means change.

Absence Is Not Exclusion
Not appearing on the current index does not mean you cannot join. If your venue is not listed and you believe it belongs, contact us before applying for Prime. We assess new additions regularly.

Performance Matters
Venues that fall below the standard we maintain — whether through declining quality, unresolved guest complaints, or other factors — may be removed from the index. Prime membership does not exempt a venue from this review.

FAQ

Common questions.

How quickly will my listing be updated after I join?
Within 24–48 hours of payment confirmation. Our team manually reviews each new Prime member to ensure quality, then updates your listing in the admin panel. You'll receive a confirmation email once it's live.
Can I cancel my membership at any time?
Monthly memberships can be cancelled before the next billing cycle — no questions asked. Annual memberships are non-refundable but you retain Prime status for the full year. We believe in earning your loyalty every month.
What photos should I provide?
High-resolution images that represent your venue at its best — interior atmosphere, signature dishes or rooms, team photos, or key views. After joining, you upload them directly via the admin panel or email them to us and we'll handle it.
Will Prime affect my position if my Google rating drops?
The +15 point boost is fixed regardless of fluctuations in your Google data. Your overall FM Score will still reflect real-time ratings and reviews, but the Prime boost remains constant for as long as you're a member.
Is the annual launch price guaranteed for the full year?
Yes. Your founding member rate of €294/year is locked in for the first renewal. After that, you'll have the option to renew at whatever rate applies at that time — but founding members always get priority access and the best available rate.
My venue is already on the index — do I have to reapply?
No. If you're already ranked in the FreeMalta Hospitality Index, your Prime upgrade is seamless. We add the details, photos and boost to your existing listing. No reapplication, no disruption.
