LearnWorlds / Online academy

Expertise / Online courses / Your own academy

You have the knowledge.
Build the experience.

Someone asks how you do it. You explain. Then someone else asks. Somewhere between the third workshop and the fiftieth PDF, your expertise deserves a better home. LearnWorlds brings courses, learning activities and the business around them into an academy you can build under your own brand.

01 / Who is this for?

Start with the learner.
The platform comes second.

A consultant wants to package a method. A software company wants customers to stop guessing. A training provider needs to deliver the same programme well, more than once. These are different businesses. “We should launch a course” is only the beginning of the conversation.

Experts / Creators

Turn a method into a product.

Build a focused course around a result you can teach. Your experience is the material; the structure is what helps someone else use it.

Training providers

Give the programme a home.

Organise learning content and a delivery process around the people taking it. Validate assessment, access and reporting needs before choosing a plan.

Customer education

Help people use what they bought.

Consider an academy for product onboarding or practical customer training. Measure whether learners can complete the task—not merely whether they opened the lesson.

Business teams

Train for the actual work.

Match the programme to a real skill or operational need. If the main problem is simply documenting internal SOPs, compare the approach with our Trainual guide below.

Expertise fills the course.
Good teaching gives it a reason to exist.

02 / The difference is in the learning

Watching is a start.
What happens next matters.

A folder of videos can be perfectly useful. An academy earns its place when it adds a sequence, an opportunity to practise and a way to see what the learner understood.

Interactive video

Put the question inside the lesson.

LearnWorlds lets you add questions, hotspots and navigation to videos. Pause at a meaningful point: what would the learner do here? A relevant decision is worth more than a decorative interaction.

Assessments / Feedback

Ask for evidence of understanding.

Use graded exams, self-assessments or assignments where appropriate. The help centre documents manual and automatic grading options. Choose a task that reflects the learning objective, with clear feedback.

SCORM / Existing material

Keep useful content in play.

Import supported SCORM or HTML5 packages and track relevant progress or scores. Test the actual file, completion logic and device behaviour before moving an existing programme.

Completion / Certificates

Be precise about what was achieved.

LearnWorlds offers completion and knowledge certificates. Configure the criteria carefully. Finishing a course, passing an assessment and holding an accredited qualification are different claims.

03 / The academy is also a business

Your lessons need a structure.
So does the offer.

Sell a clear outcome.

Use the academy website and checkout to explain who the programme serves, what it contains and what the buyer receives. Specify support, access duration and refund terms. The vague promise usually arrives before the refund request.

Choose the access model deliberately.

LearnWorlds supports course bundles and subscription models, subject to plan. Recurring access needs recurring value: updates, useful resources or a programme people have a reason to keep using.

The platform does not supply the demand. You still need the audience, the offer and the route to a purchase. Start with a group whose problem you understand before building a magnificent school for hypothetical students.

04 / AI with a subject-matter expert in the room

Less blank-page work.
Keep your judgement.

LearnWorlds’ AI tools help draft course material, assessments and supporting content. That can remove a lot of repetitive work. It cannot turn an uncertain explanation into a reliable lesson merely by making it longer.

Give it a teaching brief.

Define the audience, prior knowledge and what someone should be able to do afterwards. Supply your actual method and examples. Ask for a useful first draft, not a complete education from a title.

Review the learner-facing details.

Check the answer key, sources and terminology. AI-assisted captions and translations need review too. A fluent subtitle can still teach the wrong thing beautifully.

05 / Plans and the cost behind the price

Choose for the workflow.
Budget for the whole school.

The current plans are Starter, Pro Trainer, Learning Center and Corporate. Check active-learner, administrator and AI-credit limits alongside feature access. A low headline price is not much help if the required workflow lives on another tier.

Starter / Pro Trainer

Launch, then count the enrollments.

Starter’s standard monthly price is $29 plus $5 per paid enrollment. Pro Trainer lists $99 monthly without enrollment fees. Annual billing and promotions change the comparison.

Learning Center / Corporate

Check the academy-level controls.

Learning Center targets branded academies; Corporate is custom-priced. Confirm white-label requirements, client groups, reporting, integrations and the limits your team actually needs.

Illustrative monthly platform-cost comparison

20 paid enrollments changes the arithmetic.

Starter / standard monthly billing$129$29 + (20 × $5)
Pro Trainer / standard monthly billing$99Before promotions or annual pricing

This compares only subscription and enrollment fees—not taxes, payment processing, add-ons or plan suitability. Use your actual volume and current checkout price.

06 / Your brand, wherever learning happens

A mobile app is an option.
A usable lesson is essential.

LearnWorlds offers a branded mobile app as a paid add-on on eligible plans. Treat it as a distribution decision: will your learners genuinely use it, and is the extra cost justified?

Test the real phone journey.

Open a lesson, navigate the video, answer the assessment and resume later. Check captions and readability. If you import SCORM, responsive behaviour also depends on the original package.

Check what the app arrangement includes.

Confirm setup, publishing responsibilities, supported features and ongoing fees. Do not assume an app is included in the academy subscription or that every web workflow behaves identically.

07 / A pilot worth doing

Build one useful lesson.
Follow it all the way through.

Illustrative pilot: an expert turns a recurring workshop into a short programme. The first test is not “how many videos can we upload?” It is whether a learner gets from interest to a useful result without needing the creator beside them.

Choose one outcome.

Define the person and the task. A narrower promise is easier to teach, test and explain than an encyclopaedia of everything you know.

Create a complete learning unit.

Include an explanation, an activity and a check for understanding. Make every interaction serve the objective.

Try the buyer and learner routes.

Check signup, payment, access and completion using appropriate test tools. Test cancellation or refund procedures if you plan to sell access.

Invite a small, relevant group.

Observe confusion, completion and the quality of answers. Fix the weak points before building the next twenty modules.

Questions people ask

Before you open the school.

What is LearnWorlds used for?

LearnWorlds brings course delivery, an academy website and selling tools into a hosted platform. It can suit experts selling courses, training providers and businesses educating customers or teams. Choose it around the learning workflow you need.

Does LearnWorlds bring me an audience?

Do not treat a course platform as guaranteed distribution. You still need a clear offer, relevant audience, acquisition plan and learner support. A polished academy is where the experience happens; it does not create demand by itself.

What makes its interactive video useful?

The editor supports questions, hotspots, navigation and other elements inside videos. Use them where a learner needs to make a decision or check understanding, rather than decorate every minute. Feature access should be checked against your plan.

Can I import SCORM courses?

LearnWorlds documents SCORM and HTML5 imports, including progress and grade tracking. Verify plan upload limits and test your actual packages before migration. Mobile behaviour also depends on how the source content was authored.

Can AI build the course for me?

Its AI tools can help draft learning material and assessments. An expert should check factual accuracy, sequencing, questions, captions and translations. The platform cannot decide what your learners genuinely need to know without a useful brief.

Does a certificate mean the course is accredited?

No. Platform-issued certificates record the completion or achievement you configure. Accreditation, professional recognition and regulatory sufficiency require their own assessment. Do not imply that using an LMS creates an accredited qualification.

Are there extra costs beyond the subscription?

Starter currently includes a fee per paid enrollment. Payment processing, taxes, mobile-app add-ons and optional services can affect the total. Check current limits, billing cadence and renewal terms; no enrollment fee does not mean no operating costs.

Is there a trial?

The pricing page currently describes a 30-day trial. Confirm the features available in your trial and the paid plan you would actually choose. Test one complete learner journey before committing, not just the course editor.
